Prof. Ross MURCH awarded the 2026 IEEE Communications Society Heinrich Hertz Award
Prof. Ross MURCH, Chair Professor of Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE), and his international collaborators have been awarded the 2026 IEEE Communications Society Heinrich Hertz Award for Best Communications Letter.
The award recognizes their paper, “Channel Estimation for FAS-Assisted Multiuser mmWave Systems,” published in IEEE Communications Letters (March 2024). It honors outstanding work that opens new research directions and advances communications engineering.
Co-authors include researchers from University College London, Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Xidian University, Yonsei University, Southeast University, and Kuang-Chi Science Ltd, including ECE alumnus Prof. WONG Kai-Kit (UCL).
The award will be presented at IEEE GLOBECOM 2026 in Macau, December 7–11, 2026.
