Academic Advising

ELEC2910 Academic and Professional Development I and ELEC3910 Academic and Professional Development II are compulsory one-year courses for BEng in Electronic Engineering students.  The courses are designed to provide academic advising to students and/or to develop students' communication skills in interacting with the technical and non-technical audiences in their professional careers.

ELEC2910 and ELEC3910 are required courses of the program.  ELEC2910 is pre-enrolled to students in Year 2 while ELEC3910 is pre-enrolled to students in Year 3.  Students have to complete the following course requirements and obtain “P” grade in both courses in order to graduate.

Fall Term

  • UG Orientation to be held on the first Wed evening after Add/Drop Period
  • Career Development Workshop to be held on Wed evening in late Sept
  • Career Development Workshop to be held on Wed evening in early Oct 
  • Meeting with Advisor

Spring Term

  • Career Development Workshop to be held on the first Wed evening after Add/Drop Period
  • Meeting with Advisor
  • Meeting with Communication Tutor

 

ELEC3910 Academic and Professional Development II

Fall Term

  • Meeting with Advisor
  • Meeting with Communication Tutor

Spring Term

  • Meetings with Advisor

 

Details of UG Orientation, Career Development Workshops and meeting timeslots are to be announced by email, students are strongly encouraged to check their ITSC account regularly and take appropriate actions.  If students do not receive any email/notice from advisor/the Department, please be proactive to contact respective party for immediate follow-up.
