PhD Early Admissions Scheme

About the Scheme

The PhD Early Admissions Scheme (PhD-EAS) is an elite program created by the ECE department for outstanding students from top universities in China to enter the PhD research early and directly.  The PhD-EAS mainly targets Year 3 Undergraduate students.  Currently, our partner universities include

  • Sun Yat-sen University

Over the past years, PhD-EAS students have made outstanding achievements in frontier research.  Many PhD-EAS students were awarded Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS).  Undergraduates with strong academic profile and research motivation are encouraged to apply for the PhD-EAS through their home universities.

 

Application

  1. Home university/ institution to nominate top Undergraduate students
  2. Application form to be completed by nominees
  3. ECE faculty members to interview candidates in two rounds
  4. Successful candidates to be informed and asked for acceptance

PhD-EAS exercise starts in February to March every year.  The nomination deadline from partner university was closed.  Interested students should ask their home schools about the application.  Inquiries can be also sent to eceeas@ust.hk.
