PG Alumni were recognized as AI 2000 Most Internet of Things Influential Scholars Honorable Mention

Prof. Meixia TAO (ranked 34th), Prof. Kai-Kit WONG (ranked 59th) and Dr. Ernest Sze-Yuen LO (ranked 70th) were recognized as AI 2000 Internet of Things Most Influential Scholars Honorable Mention. Prof. TAO was also on the Women in AI 2000 List which covers all 179 female scholars (9.7%) in the AI 2000 list.

Prof. Angela Yingjun ZHANG has been elected as an IEEE Fellow

Prof. Angela Yingjun ZHANG is currently an Associate Professor at Information Engineering department at Chinese University of Hong Kong.  She received PhD degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2004. 

Prof. ZHANG has been elected as an IEEE fellow "for contributions to resource allocation and optimization in wireless communications".

The IEEE Fellow grade is one of the Institute's most prestigious honors. It recognizes extraordinary accomplishments in the profession and is conferred upon a person with unusual distinction and record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest following a very rigorous review. To ensure that the recognition is extraordinary, the total number of recipients each year does not exceed 0.1% of the total voting IEEE membership.

Prof. Dong LI and Teams' "Super-resolution Imaging Technique" was selected as China's Top 10 Scientific Discoveries

Prof. Dong LI and his team's "Super-resolution Imaging Technique" was selected as China's Top 10 Scientific Discoveries.

"A team of Chinese and U.S. scientists developed a new imaging technology that can perform high-speed, long-term and super-resolution imaging of intracellular physiological processes. Using this technique, a variety of new interactions between organelles were discovered." Source: Xinhuanet/CGTN

Prof. Dong LI is currently Principal Investigator of National Laboratory of Biomarcomolecules, Institute of Biophysics.  He received PhD degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2011.

Prof. Kai-Kit WONG has just been elevated to IEEE Fellow

Prof. WONG is currently a Professor of University College London in United Kingdom. He received the BEng, the MPhil, and the PhD degrees, all in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, in 1996, 1998, and 2001, respectively.

Prof. Meixia TAO has just been named an IEEE Fellow

PG alumna Prof. Meixia TAO has been recognized "for contributions to resource allocation in broadband wireless networks".

Prof. TAO is currently a Professor with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. She received the PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2003.

The IEEE Fellow grade is one of the Institute's most prestigious honors. It is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directors upon a person with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The total number selected in any one year cannot exceed one-tenth of one- percent of the total voting membership. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.
