Prof. Ling SHI Received a Natural Science Award of Shanghai (Second Class) 2019

Prof. Ling SHI has won a Natural Science Award of Shanghai (Second Class), 2019, by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government for his project "Multi-source information estimation theory and resource optimization method in complex environment", jointly with a research team at the East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST).

The project teams proposed (1) novel distributed state estimation frameworks for optimally fusing measurement data generated by a sensor network; (2) efficient sensor scheduling strategies and channel bandwidth allocation methods to provide a desired trade-off between system performance (estimation accuracy and sensor lifetime) and limited resources (bandwidth and transmission energy). The 2nd awardee in the ECUST team, Dr. Chao YANG, is currently an Associate Professor in ECUST. She graduated from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, HKUST, with a PhD degree in 2013 under the supervision of Prof. Ling SHI.
