A Student-Alumni Start-up Team Won the “Global Challenge Award – 21st Century Education” at the HKUST-Sino One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition 2021

The startup team "AIoTR Academy Limited" led by ECE student members won the "Global Challenge Award - 21st Century Education” at the HKUST-Sino One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition 2021. The team members include Babar HUSSAIN (PhD in ECE), Hoi Chuen CHENG (MPhil in ECE), and alumnus Alex LEUNG (ECE), Rheaa MAHESWARI (MSc in EEM) and James LAM (BBA). The team is advised by Prof. Patrick YUE.

AIoTR Academy aims to address the strong demand for innovative education technology platform in Hong Kong and other leading cities to teach our next generation of engineers, architects, and designers the advanced concepts of smart cities. They have developed a pioneering Edu-tech solution for learning AI, IoT, & Robotics in a deep-dive, easy-out manner. Their unique curriculum is based on hardware-software co-design, hands-on and project-based experiential learning using HKUST-patented technology LiPHY. AIoTR is launched initially in the HK market and is planning to expand to other GBA cities including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and strategically across mainland China and the globe.
