Professor Kevin J. Chen received a Natural Science Award of Chinese Institute of Electronics (Second Class) 2022

Prof. Kevin Chen has been awarded a Natural Science Award (Second Class) 2022, by the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE) for the project “Mechanisms and Control of Surface and Interface States in GaN based Heterojunction Power Devices”, jointly with a research team at the Institute of Microelectronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMECAS), Beijing, China.

The first awardee in the IMECAS team, Dr. Sen HUANG, is currently a full professor. He received his postdoctoral training during 2009-2012 from HKUST under the supervision of Prof. Kevin Chen. The fourth awardee in the IMECAS team, Dr. Qimeng JIANG, received his PhD degree from Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, HKUST, also under Prof. Chen’s supervision.
