HKSTP x HKUST x Infineon Microelectronics Ecosystem Conference concludes successfully

This ground-breaking event, as the first large-scale microelectronics conference that brings together the “industry, academic, and research sectors” in Hong Kong, marking a major milestone in Hong Kong's journey to become a world-leading microelectronics innovation and talent hub!

Over 40 cutting-edge technology showcases from HKSTP Park companies, HKUST spin-offs, and Infineon partners. Attendees were treated to a glimpse of Hong Kong's diverse strengths in microelectronics applications, including smart mobility, medical robots, and AI video analytics.

Nurturing a generation of Microelectronics talents is a key to develop Microelectronics Ecosystem. Prof. Philip Wong, Willard R. and Inez Kerr Bell Professor in the School of Engineering at Stanford University, and Prof. Zhiyong Fan, Chair Professor in Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at HKUST gave the keynote speeches on the future trend in microelectronics.

The industry leaders of Microelectronics from HKUST community, Prof. C.Y. Tsui, Prof. Zhiyong Fan, Dr. Eddie Chong and Jacky Cheung also shared in the panel discussion to explore opportunities and challenges for young talents. The session is moderated by Prof. Carrie Ling, Director of HKUST Entrepreneurship Center.

Dr. Shin Cheul Kim, Associate Vice-President for Research and Development (Knowledge Transfer) of HKUST, David Poon, President of Infineon Technologies Greater China, Alert Wong, CEO of HKSTP, and Professor Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry also shared their thought on the development of microelectronics in Hong Kong.
