Dr. Chong Wing Cheung Eddie won the first prize in ICDT 2023 (International Conference on Display Technology 2023)

Our Alumnus - Dr. Chong Wing Cheung Eddie won the first prize in ICDT 2023 (International Conference on Display Technology 2023)!

Dr. Chong got his PhD degree in 2015 and completed both his MPhil and Undergraduate studies at HKUST.

As the founder of Raysolve Technology - a semiconductor company focusing on design, research, and manufacturing of innovative micro-LED micro-display chips. Dr. Chong developed proprietary monolithic fabrication technology and know-how in their high brightness micro-LED micro-display with the high pixel density.

The Monolithic integration of micro-LED array on silicon-based display driver can form a high efficiency, high brightness and self-emissive micro-LED micro-display. The micro-LED micro-display doesn’t require LED backlight and optical components between backlight and LCOS display panel, Micro-LED pixels can be individually addressed, so light efficiency and optical contrast is much higher than that in LCOS.

ICDT is one of the most important international conferences sponsored by SID (the Society for Information Display). The Conference topics cover a wide range of new display technology and the latest progress of intelligent manufacturing technology. In addition to the general 17 technical topics, they also focus on 9 special topics, including advanced TFT, printed displays, VR/AR/MR and Metaverse, Mini/Micro-LED & highly integrated semiconductor information display (HISID), light filed display, flexible electronics and displays, quantum dots and related displays, vehicle displays, green intelligent manufacturing technology.
