Profile

Dr. Zhang achieved his B.Eng. degree in Microelectronics from Wuhan University, China, in 2014, and Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE) from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong, China, in 2020. Then he worked as a Research Associate in the department of ECE at HKUST from Apr. 2020 to Apr. 2023, after which he was promoted to a Research Assistant Professor. His current research focus is on carrier dynamics in semiconductor (e.g., metal halide perovskites) nanowires/quantum wires, and their applications in optoelectronic devices. To date, he has published 8 (co-) first-author papers in international peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Photonics, Advanced Energy Materials, Nano Letters, etc. He also won many awards, including the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS), Best Student Presentation Award (ECS PRIME 2016, USA), and Top 10 Research Progress in Semiconductors in China of 2022.
