The ECE Students' Society (ECESS), the largest student society in HKUST, aims to promote friendship and general welfare among its members. A range of activities have been organized so that students can relax, enjoy, and at the same time gain a deeper understanding of the School, the Department, and their classmates. IEEE HKUST Student Branch

The IEEE HKUST Student Branch was founded in 1998. The objective of the Branch is to advance our members' standing and knowledge in the engineering profession. To achieve this goal, our Branch focuses on networking with the industry, scholars in other universities and with other local IEEE branches, and organizing meetings and conferences to keep our members abreast of the latest developments in engineering fields.

IET Hong Kong Student Section

IET (The Institute of Engineering and Technology) was formed by the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE) and now has more than 150,000 members worldwide. It is the largest professional engineering society in Europe and the second largest in the world. Their aim is to serve a global community engaged in engineering and technology, and provide a knowledge network accessible around the globe.

The IET Hong Kong Student Section has been set up in October 1995 in order to assist the Younger Members Section to organize functions for students in Hong Kong. The aim of the Student Section includes:

  • To introduce and promote IEE and IEE's activities to students.
  • To facilitate the exchange of information and ideas between students and IEE.
  • To provide students with information on engineering profession.
  • To assist students in developing their careers.
  • To improve students' capabilities as engineers.
