Following the success of the 1st IEEE Electronic Endeavor Match in 2017, the 2nd IEEE Electronic Endeavor Match was held at the Hong Kong Science Park on 7th April 2018. The event was organized by the ECE department of HKUST led by Prof. Mansun Chan, with the support of ABFYE, HKSTP and IEEE. The match is part of the on-going efforts to introduce electronic circuit concepts as part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education to pre-university students. The IEEE Electronic Endeavor Match aims to recognize primary and secondary school students who have developed their interest and skill in constructing electronic circuits.
The participants were from different elementary and middle schools in Hong Kong with a total of 98 participants. The participants were divided into 3 different groups according to their age. After the 3-round competition, the committee selected 3 awardees and the best design award from each group. The students exhibited interest in electronic circuits and gave positive feedback on this event.
