Wylie SO is the Managing Director of BMTPow Ltd which he founded in 2003. BMTPow specializes in lithium battery management systems, power battery packs, and lithium battery pack production equipment. BMTPow contributed to the lithium battery application industry by providing the first battery energy storage system for China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom's base stations in 2007. In 2013, Wylie led the engineering team at BMTPow to develop the first smart battery pack for DJI drones. BMTPow also introduced the world's first lithium battery replacement for lead-acid battery packs in 2019. In 2023, it launched an All-In-One (AIO) smart home energy storage system for Europe market.
Wylie is the inventor of multiple patents on lithium battery management in the PRC and US. In addition, he is the vice president of the Guangdong Province Battery Industry Association, as well as a member of the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) Intelligent Power Lithium Battery Group in the United States.
Wylie earned his BS degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) in 1995 and his MS degree in Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) in 2020 from HKUST.
