ECE Final Year Project Mid-term Progress Day 2023

ECE Final Year Project Mid-term Progress Day was successfully held on 18 Jan 2023. 

It is the Department's annual whole-day-event for final year students to show their progress of FYP to other students and faculty members. It is also a valuable opportunity for students to mingle with each other. 

Over 150 students and faculty members joined the Progress Day. To recognize the outstanding achievement in FYP of our students, five projects are selected by judging panels as the winners of mid-term poster awards. 

The results have been announced at the dinner gathering following the day event.

Winning Teams of ECE FYP Mid-term Poster Awards:

Champion:

• "FPGA-controlled single refreshable Braille character" by CHAN Tsz Hin, CHENG Hei Yeung & WONG Dennis Guan Ming, supervised by Prof. Levent YOBAS
• "Robotic Guide Dog: A solution to the lack of guide dogs in societies" by IKEMURA Kei, ZHANG Jiekai & ZHAO Yu Xuan, supervised by Prof. Ling SHI 

1st Runner Up:

• "Smart Gas Sensor System for Air Quality Monitoring" by CHAN Pak Ho & MAN Hoa Ming, supervised by Prof. Zhiyong FAN
• "Phase-to-phase Isolated DC to AC Inverter for Three-phase Unbalanced Load" by LI Chentian, supervised by Prof. Tim WOO

2nd Runner Up: 

• "IoT smart tracking system" by KO Yan Fai, SIU Chi Chun & WONG Ho Lam, supervised by Prof. Ling SHI
