ECE PhD student has been awarded as one of the two Maiman Outstanding Student Paper Competition Honorable Mentions

ECE PhD student, Mr. Zhanshi YAO, has just been awarded as one of the two Maiman Outstanding Student Paper Competition Honorable Mentions (ranked 2nd or 3rd in the competition) out of 5 finalists.

His award-winning paper was titled "Vertically Embedded Multimode-Interference Waveguide-Based Optical Stretchers for Mechanical Characterization of Cells".

The Maiman Outstanding Student Paper Competition is part of the Optical Society of America (OSA) Conference on Lasers and ELectro-Optics (CLEO) 2017, San Jose, 14-19 May 2017.
