Student Startup Team “I-Square Technology" Won the Third Prize in 2018 HKUST-Sino One Million Dollar Competition and Two Prizes in 2018 "Challenge Cup" National Competition - Hong Kong Regional Final

The student startup team "I-Square Technology (圖方科技)” led by Mr. Eric Wai Keung KUO (MPhil in TLE) and comprises three other members, CHAN Wei Ngar (BBA Global Business), CHAN Ching Lam (BBA in Economic and Finance) and Joey Zhaoxu HU (PhD in ECE), won the third prize “GF Securities Silver Award" with HKD100,000 cash in the 2018 HKUST-Sino One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition for their project “Anti-counterfeiting and Verification Solution to Brand Products (圖像商品防偽方案)". Mr. KUO and Mr. HU are currently under Prof. Wai Ho MOW’s supervision, and their project was developed based on the HKUST patented technology “PiCode” developed by Prof. Mow’s research team.

The enlarged team with two additional members also won two prizes, the Second Prize under the Startup Category (初創企業二等獎) and the Entrepreneurship Special Prize (創業項目專項獎) in the 2018 "Challenge Cup" National Competition - Hong Kong Regional Final (「挑戰盃」全國賽香港區選拔賽—-第四屆香港大學生創新及創業大賽).
