The Honorable John KC Lee, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, along with Dr. CHOI Yuk-lin, Secretary of Education, and Prof. SUN Dong, Secretary for Innovation and Technology explored the 3D-Mooncake Printer

Who would have thought that mooncakes, steeped in century-old traditions, could be revolutionized by cutting-edge technology? ISD-ECE Joint Faculty Prof. Mitch Li and His Research Team Crafted the First 3D-printed Mooncake in Hong Kong! The State Key Laboratory of Advanced Displays and Optoelectronics Technologies is proud to sponsor one of the research: 3D-Printed Mooncakes Hong Kong's first-ever batch of 3D-printed mooncakes in purple sweet potato and custard flavors featuring the HKUST emblem. Moreover, this innovative food printer can also produce cookies and cakes.

Whipping up a mooncake in just 10 minutes (soon to be 5!) is now possible with this incredible machine. No more fussing with intricate molds—this customizable printer adds heat and eliminates the need for post-print cooking. It's a revolutionary fusion of 3D printing and cooking, making food production faster and more efficient!
