ECE PG students won the Championship of Green Innovation Competition

A team of Prof. Zhiyong Fan’s PG students, Lei TANG (ECE MPhil), Kwong-Hoi TSUI (ECE PhD), Wing-Yi CHAK (TLE MPhil), has just won the Championship in the 3rd "GCL Cup (协鑫杯) International College Student Green Energy Science and Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition", in Suzhou China, on 21 October 2017. 
 
In this competition, the team pitched a business idea based on Nanostructured Antireflection Films for Solar Panel, which is an improved version they used to win the HKUST One-Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition in 2016.  This time they were competing with 70 strong teams from the top universities including but not limited to National University Singapore in Singapore; National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan; Peking University, Tsinghua University and Shanghai Jiaotong University in Mainland China.  The competition was held in Suzhou Industrial Park, sponsored and organized by GCL group, which is the one of the largest solar panel manufacturers in the world.
