Hong Xing received the B.Eng. degree in Electronic Sciences and Technologies and B.A. degree in English literature both from Zhejiang University, China, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in Wireless Communications from King's College London, U.K., in 2016. She is currently an Assistant Professor with Information Hub/IoT Thrust, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (GZ), and also an Affiliated Assistant Professor with the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE), HKUST. Prior to joining HKUST, she was a Research Associate Professor at Shenzhen University, China, from March 2019 to December 2021. Previously, Dr. Xing was appointed as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Queen Mary University of London, U.K. from October 2017 to January 2019, and King’s College London, U.K., from February 2016 to September 2017. Her research interests include wireless distributed learning, mobile-edge computing, information and power transfer, and physical-layer security. She regularly serves as Member of Technical Program Committee for prestigious IEEE COMSOC conferences (e.g., ICC and GLOBECOM), and she is currently serving as Associate Editor for the IEEE ACCESS. She received the Best 50 of the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM) 2014.

Dr. Xing’s research group is currently recruiting PhD candidates/Research Assistant (RA)/Postdocs (working in GZ campus from Sept. 2022 onwards). Self-motivated students with general background in one or more of the following areas: wireless communications/signal processing/optimization and machine learning, strong mathematical analysis and implementation skills are encouraged to apply.
