Talk Description
Edward graduated in 2003 from EEE at HKUST and in this talk he will share his career and work experiences since graduation. In particular he will describe his current job duties and functions at MTR Corporation Limited. He will describe what to expect in your work when you graduate and provide some tips on how to get promoted. He will also provide some tips on your career planning while you are still a student and also how to get the most from your studies to help your career in the future.
Speaker's Biography
Edward graduated in 2001 with an BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and in 2003 with an MPhil. He is currently employed as an Engineer I - Control in MTR Corporation Limited. He has been working in industry for over 10 years and previous positions also included Electronic Engineer (Software) in ASM Assembly Automation Ltd., Engineer - ITF in Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation and Construction Engineer II - Control System in MTR Corporation Limited . He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), Project Management Professional (PMP) as well as a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), The Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineer (IEEE) and Project Management Institute (PMI). He is also an active volunteer in the IET. He served various posts under Hong Kong Branch Committee, including the Chairman of Younger Members Section in Session 2007-2008. He was elected as Council Member of the Institution from 2010-2013. Currently he is serving as Committee Member of Management Section, as well as Railway and Transport Section inthe Hong Kong Branch.
