Recruitment:

  • I am looking for self-motivated PhD students with strong mathematical background.

  • I am looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on distributed/online optimization, communication-efficient distributed learning, federated learning, and other related areas. Candidates should have published papers in relevant top-tier venues.

 

Since October 2021, I have been an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. From August 2017 to October 2021, I was successively a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Department of Electrical Engineering at Princeton University, and the Coordinated Science Lab at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. I received the M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Prior to that, I got a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 2013.
