Frankie Chi-Yuk Chiu (M'05-SM'12) received both the B.Eng. and the M.Eng. degrees, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong, in 2001, 2001 and 2005, respectively. He joined the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) as a Research Associate in 2005. Then, he worked at Sony Mobile Communications, Beijing as a Senior Antenna Engineer in 2011. Since 2015, he has been at HKUST again where he is currently Research Associate Professor at the Department of ECE. Dr. Chiu has published over 110 papers, 2 book chapters and holds several patents related to antenna technology. His main research interests include theory and applications of characteristic modes, MIMO antennas, MIMO measurements and energy harvesting. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Corporate Member of HKIE, a member of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Education Committee, the Coordinator of IEEE AP-S C. J. Reddy Travel Grants, and the Chair of IEEE AP-S, Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S) Hong Kong Joint Chapter.
