Profile

Prof. Hongtao Xu received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 1997, and the M.A. degree in economics and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara, USA, in 2003 and 2005, respectively. 

He is a full professor at Fudan University, Shanghai, China, and the director of the Fudan Wireless IC and System (WiCAS) research group. Prior to that, he worked at Intel Labs, Hillsboro, OR, USA from 2005 to 2015. In 2018 he co-founded ICLEGEND MICRO, an IC company for wireless sensing. He has authored or coauthored more than 100 journal articles and conference papers and holds 19 patents in the areas of RF transceiver and front-end modules. His technical interests include innovative analog/RF/millimeter-wave circuits and wireless systems for communication and sensing.

He served as a Steering Committee member and/or a Technical Program Committee member for the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), the IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM), the IEEE Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits Symposium (RFIC). He is a member of the IEEE MTT-S Subcommittees 23 on Wireless Communications, also served as an Associate Editor for IEEE MICROWAVE AND WIRELESS COMPONENTS LETTERS and an Associate Editor for IEEE JOURNAL OF SOLID-STATE CIRCUITS.
